We're so excited to be tying the knot in paradise--there is no better way we can imagine the day than being surrounded by the natural beauty of Hawai'i, celebrating with our cherished family and friends, enjoying great music and fabulous food!

About Us

We met through a mutual friend, and to be honest, I don't know if either of us really know the first time we met.  He was living in Palo Alto, I was in San Francisco, and he would often meet up with our larger group of friends in the city on Friday nights.  I do, however, remember  the night he asked me out.  We had been to one of our usual bars and made our way to the Marina...Friday night as usual.  The details are a bit hazy, but I remember he was there, and at the end of the night he surprised me by asking me out.  I said yes, but meant to say no--I remember thinking that he was totally cute and seemed really cool, but I was enjoying being somewhat newly single and didn't want to complicate things by dating a friend.  I ended up calling him a couple days later to cancel, citing the "I just have a lot going on" excuse.  Then of course we'd see each other when we all went out with our usual group of friends...awkward.  That was sometime in early December, I think...

One or two months later I realized I was a dummy and really wanted that date after all.  I eventually summoned up the courage to ask him out--sort of.  I asked him to ask me that question again--"that question" being "will you go out with me," but I was too shy to ask him directly.  From that night on, we were inseperable.  Less than six months later, we moved to Las Vegas together...and the rest is wonderful history.  Thank goodness for second chances!

The Engagement

He surprised me on a walk on the beach while visiting my family over Christmas.  We arrived in San Diego that day, and it was a sunny, warm December afternoon.  He asked if I wanted to get out, take a walk--sure, why not, it had been a while since we'd seen the ocean since being landlocked in Dallas.  Long story short, we were walking on the sand and he started saying how much he loved me, stopped, took my hand, got down on one knee, took out a ring box and asked me to marry him.  Although I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, I still couldn't believe it was actually happening.  We sat on the beach for a while after he proposed and I relished every minute of reality sinking in.  Later that evening, we celebrated with my family at the Hotel del Coronado--it was a perfect end to a perfect day.  I love him for choosing a time that would allow my family to celebrate with me.  I have a large but close-knit family, and we can never turn down an excuse to pop some champagne.  I speak for all of my family when I say--he did good!
