THE DRESS - JCrew to Project Runway to...finally...THE ONE

I started out with the JCrew dress, which I really did like.  Except that it wasn't very forgiving (shows every single curve in your body--including those that you don't want seen).  The price was right and the fabric was lovely, but in the end I decided I would have to wear Spanx (= HOT in June) and I'd still be worrying about looking good in the dress.  I just didn't want to be stressed about how I look in my dress on my wedding day.  So I returned it--can't do that with many wedding dresses.  JCrew rocks!

Then I started working with Shirin Askari, a contestant on Project Runway who lives her in Dallas.  She was great!  But she was launching her new clothing line and I was having a hard time making any kind of decisions.  I think I drove her nuts and I still wasn't happy (even though she is adorable and so sweet!  And of course, talented).

But it was all meant to be because I recently stumbled on what I really wanted all this time and just didn't know it.

I'm a happy bride now.  :)

The Veil

So I originally really wanted a veil, which my mom said she would make, similar to the one she wore when she married my dad.  In the end, I decided against it.  It was a hard decision.  I love the lace and the look of the mantilla.  But it didn't really fit the spirit of our wedding.  I decided to leave the pics in here--though I'm going in a different direction, I still love seeing these gorgeous pics!
